Affiliate Summit West 2009 – My Expectations

Affiliate Summit West 2009 is starting tomorrow. I am arriving into Vegas in the morning, and have just enough time to quickly set up my Meet Market table, and rush to the “Advanced Approaches to Affiliate Recruiting, Training & Management” dual presentation we are doing with Heather Paulson [details here].

Shawn Collins has reported today:

“. . . we will have over 3,200 attendees at Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas this year. That’s up from 2,932 in 2008 . . . it’s a sign that the industry is vibrant as ever, despite the shape of the economy.”

This is definitely good to hear, and I myself am feeling the difference too. My agenda is packed with meetings and interviews (5 to 7 meetings a day!) I don’t expect this Affiliate Summit to be as “chilling” as the previous ones were for me, but I am happy about it. As long as there is interest in the industry, and people are meeting to strike new deals, and toss around ideas, there is a future for the industry. Much of this future is being shaped these very days, and it is exciting to be a part of it.

If you are  to this Affiliate Summit, do stop by my Meet Market table (the number is easy to remember – Table #88). I will be at the table from 1 pm until 6 pm on 11 January. If you are a merchant or an affiliate manager, I would also love to see you in the presentation that we’re doing between 12 pm and 1 pm, also on the first day of the Summit.

I will also be tweeting regularly, and you may follow me on www.twitter.com/eprussakov

I hope to see many of you soon, learn from you, and hopefully contribute something into the pot of ideas too.
