Improve Affiliate Recruitment with Google Alerts

Are you using Google Alerts (or any other brand monitoring tools) for affiliate recruitment? They can be truly great, as they are always up-to-date. So, your recruitment email, when coming as a reaction to something newly-written online, will generally have better chances of catching the attention of your prospective affiliate.

If, for example, you are an advertiser in the Auto Insurance vertical, monitoring mentions of such key phrases as “auto insurance” and “car insurance” will not only help you keep your finger on the pulse of the industry, but also assist you in identifying new prospective affiliates.

Google Alerts for Affiliate Recruitment

In the above screenshot you can see how easy it is to set up real time Google Alerts notifications to come to you in the email every time someone blogs about “car insurance”. It is also that easy to monitor other landscapes (news websites, videos, etc) or set up a broader all-encompassing monitoring.

Give it a try, automating what must be automated.

  1. I don’t know what I would do without google alerts.

I have been able to recruit, detect fraud, explore, get new ideas and keep abreast of the industry all with this killer little tool.

If you are not using this tool, then you should …. right … now!

  2. and the part everyone especially appreciates is that just as Google Analytics, and other great tools they provide, Google Alerts is provided 100% free of charge.

  3. I can’t believe I never thought of that! I did at an old job long ago when looking for blogs to reach out to for coverage, but not affiliate recruitment.

Too bad I’m not an affiliate manager anymore, eh? 😉

  4. It’s pretty much the same thing (they’re giving you the coverage, but getting paid on performance basis), isn’t it? [rhetorical question]

  5. Good Tip Geno.

It is unreal how many people use alerts but use it for NO purpose at all… 🙂 This is just one fantastic insight that hopefully would make others think a little.. 🙂

    Cheers,
