It is that time of the year when families get together and enjoy time together… Mine hasn’t been an exception.
Many gifts have been given and received, but one impressed me most — a Christmas poem my daughter has written for me and my wife.
Here is her little masterpiece (and her first English language poem):
Christmas is such a wonderful day
It’s filled with love in every way
I like to find the Christmas clue
In every doorbell — white or blue
And every snowflake is so white…
Love fills the air on Christmas night
I kept her wording, and only added some punctuation.
She wrote her very first poem (which was in Russian, and it was just a two-liner) when she was only 3. She turned 7 just about a month ago, and she hasn’t spoken a word of English until we came to America some 3 years ago. I know, much could be improved in her above little poem, but it still is quite amazing what she has done. So much romanticism and purity in her little poem!
She keeps impressing me every day, and her above masterpiece has certainly crowned all of her 2010 achievements.
I am one happy (and proud) father…
Hope you are enjoying your Christmas as much as I do!
Merry Christmas, everyone!!
