Top 10 Business and Marketing Books to Take on Vacation

I’m now on my annual vacation, and prior to going I’ve asked my numerous fellow-marketers and friends to tell me what two business (and marketing) books they would recommend I take with me. Naturally, a unanimous consensus in an advice like this was hard to reach, but here are the ten that my fellow business and marketing people advised I take a serious look at (I’ve read several of these already; but listing the more popular ones… in the order of popularity among my friends and followers):

  1. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini
  2. Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely
  3. The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
  4. Be Unreasonable by Paul Lemberg
  5. Yes!: 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to Be Persuasive by Noah J. Goldstein, Steve J. Martin, and Robert Cialdini
  6. Tell to Win by Peter Guber
  7. The Secret to Success by Eric Thomas
  8. Words That Work: It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear by Frank Luntz
  9. Tested Advertising Methods by John Caples
  10. Our Iceberg Is Melting by John Kotter, Holger Rathgeber, Peter Mueller and Spencer Johnson

Does this list matches with your list of favorites? If a book or two are missing, please do add them through the comments area below.

  1. Great selection, I love the overlapping continuity. There is much to be gained in synthesizing the key points of these books. This is a must-read list. Thanks, Geno.
