Better Safe Than Sorry

In over 7 years of managing affiliate programs I have never seen this happen, and when I did I simply loved it, and surely took a screenshot to share with other affiliate program managers and affiliates.

After approval into an affiliate program, an affiliate emailed me the following text:

Affiliate double-checking on acceptable forms of traffic

While I approve all of my affiliates manually (which I highly recommend every merchant does), affiliates are often being auto-approved. The above one knows this well, and apparently before starting to promote any merchant, they wait for an official merchant response on which “forms of advertising” (or “forms of traffic”) are acceptable to the merchant.

I love the idea. After all, at the end of the day its so much better to be safe than sorry…
